Stana Novak is the founder and creative force behind Laughter & Company.
For years, Stana dreamed of pursuing stand-up comedy. But fear, along with the demands of raising two young kids, left little time to chase that dream. Finally, at the age of 39, she found both the time and the courage to step onto the stage for the very first time. What began as a personal challenge quickly became a turning point.
Performing offered Stana a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on the New Jersey comedy scene. She saw firsthand that while the talent here was undeniable (always has been and always will be), the environments in which stand-up comedy was often performed fell short of what live entertainment could truly be.
She envisioned something different. Something better.
Premier comedy shows presented in beautiful, upscale venues across New Jersey. A modern return to the golden age of live entertainment, when going out felt special, social, and unforgettable.
Determined to bring that vision to life, Stana set out to find the perfect venue and discovered what she believed was the perfect setting for stand-up comedy, Uncorked Wine Lounge in Totowa. Seeing the potential to pair top-tier comedians with an elevated atmosphere, she produced her very first comedy show there. And the show sold out. Standing room only.
That night marked the beginning of something bigger.
Stana realized that audiences were hungry for experiences like this, nights that felt alive and electric, fueled by the unmistakable energy that only live performance can create. She saw what audiences wanted, and more importantly, what they deserved, and decided to build it for them.
Drawing on her background in business and event coordination, Stana founded Laughter & Company, and began to curate thoughtfully produced stand-up comedy experiences in beautiful neighborhood venues, redefining what a night out can truly be.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
